Help & How-To
Troubleshoot Your Phone
Arkwest will always be here for you if you have a problem. Service problems can be caused by your equipment or Arkwest's network. You should never tamper with outside lines and switches, but a lot of common problems have simple solutions that you can do yourself.
The best thing you can do is to determine where the problem is coming from. First, Arkwest recommends testing your phone line with the Network Interface Device. This is the telephone company's box on your house. Once you locate the NID, open the door to find detailed instructions on testing the line. Please follow these instructions carefully:
- Remove the modular plug from the test jack, plug in a working single-line phone and wait about 20 seconds.
- Lift the handset and listen for a dial tone.
If you hear the dial tone, the problem is with your wiring or equipment.
If you hear nothing, please contact Arkwest's Repair Service at 479-495-3113 or 479-489-5113.
- Replace the modular plug and close the door of the NID.
